Every Irish Family has a Mary and this page is dedicated to our Mother, Mary Anne Kelly, and all the other Marys. In fact, our Mother was named after her older sister Mary who died at age 3 and she always felt she led Mary's Life.
Mary’s Life
(Originally started to write this in Jan 2018 when this website was first conceived)
Our mum often said she would write a book but although she was a prolific writer and wrote letters and made copious notes on nearly everything there was just no way she would ever get it into a printed form for publishing.
Mary Anne or Maryann or Marian or Marion or just plain Mary was just too religious (if you can refer to someone as this, but that will become clear over time). Her life had many ups and downs. She would have liked to have become a Nun but her sister had already been Chosen, so she went into a Nursing career which was the next best vocation to help people.
Told through letters received from her family as well as her notes and diaries this is the story of Mary’s life …
